Submitting a release
What language should I write my release in?
Any language. We translate it into the language of the market you are targeting, and a native speaker of that language does the work. You do not need to prepare an English version — in fact, we would rather work from your original wording.
I am not a native Japanese speaker. Can I still use APOC Wire?
Yes. You can submit and review your release in your own language. Our team works with clients in multiple languages, and you will be able to check your release before it goes out.
How do I submit?
Through our web form. Submit your release as text, along with your images.
Do I need an account?
Yes, an account is required. There is no approval process, so you can register and submit the same day.
Is there a length limit?
Up to 3,000 characters in Japanese, or 2,500 words in English.
Can I include images and video?
You can include up to 5 images. We cannot host video files — if you have a video, include its URL in your release text and we will link to it.
Can I choose the distribution date?
Yes. Tell us the date you want and we will schedule it, provided it allows enough time for translation and review.
How many countries can I distribute to at once?
There is no limit. You pay per country.
Can I distribute the same release more than once?
Yes, to a different country each time. We do not re-distribute the same release to the same country.
What cannot be distributed?
We do not distribute adult content, gambling, or political content. We also turn back releases that read as advertising copy rather than news, that make claims which cannot be verified, or that are missing contact information a journalist would need. Our full standards are here.
Coverage and results
What kind of media will pick up my release?
Two kinds. Outlets that cover your specific subject — the trade and industry media relevant to your announcement — and general news outlets that carry news across all categories. Which ones depends on your market and your story.
Can you tell me which outlets will pick it up before I order?
No. Pickup is an editorial decision made by each outlet, and no distribution service can promise a named list in advance. What we can tell you is exactly which outlets did pick it up, in your report, with the live URL and traffic tier for each one.
What happens if my release is not picked up?
In our Coverage Commitment countries, we commit to a minimum of 10 media pickups. If a release falls short of that, we refund that country’s fee in full — you do not need to ask.
Will a journalist write an article about my announcement?
Sometimes. We cannot promise it, and we will not pretend otherwise — most pickups are reprints of the release itself.
But it does happen. A Taiwanese outlet ran a full interview feature with one of our clients after a release distributed through APOC Wire.
When a journalist does write an original article, we report it to you. When nobody does, we say that plainly in your report instead of counting reprints as coverage.
Will the published articles stay online?
Your release stays on APOC Wire permanently. Articles republished by other outlets stay online for as long as those outlets keep them — that is their decision, not ours.
Can I correct or remove a release after it is published?
Yes. Contact us and we will handle it within 3 business days, at no charge. We can update or remove the version published on APOC Wire. Outlets that republished it make their own editorial decisions, so we cannot promise changes on third-party sites.
Ordering and payment
How much does it cost?
USD 300 per country, per release, with translation, distribution, images, copy check, and your media pickup report all included.
Can you issue a quotation, an invoice, or a receipt?
Yes, all three. They are not generated automatically, so email support@apocc.co.jp and we will issue what you need.
Can we sign a service agreement?
Yes. We have signed service agreements with publicly listed Japanese companies. Email support@apocc.co.jp to start that process.
Can individuals and sole traders use APOC Wire?
Yes. We work with companies, public sector organizations, sole traders, and individuals.
Confidentiality
Is it safe to send you an announcement before it is public?
Yes. Handling unpublished announcements is what this service does. Publicly listed companies and public sector organizations use APOC Wire, and we work under service agreements with confidentiality terms where clients require them.
Your release is shared with the translators and media partners needed to distribute it, and with nobody else, until the distribution date you chose.
