Shiba Park Hotel (operated by Shiba Park Hotel Co., Ltd.; Minato-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Noriyoshi Tanaka) is a library hotel built around the concept “A library hotel that connects people, towns, and history.” As a book-themed hotel, its shelves hold approximately 2,000 books selected by Ginza Tsutaya Books, offering in-house guests a quiet stay in which they can engage with books at their own pace. To help guests get even more out of their reading time, the hotel offers “Reading Companion,” a paid beverage service available at reception.
The lineup includes wines selected each season by sommeliers from Enoteca Co., Ltd., a well-known wine specialist, as well as Japanese draft beer, Japanese craft beer, sake, and Japanese whisky. The Japanese whisky selection features Hakushu and Yamazaki, two of Japan’s signature brands. With the delicate aromas and pleasant, lingering finish distinctive of Japanese whisky, each glass makes a fitting companion to a quiet moment of reading. Purchased drinks can be enjoyed wherever guests like, including the Library Lounge on the first floor, the Foyer -Book & Culture- on the second floor, and their own guest rooms.
The first-floor Library Lounge is a space surrounded by books that is open to in-house guests 24 hours a day. In addition to unwinding with family or friends at the end of the day, guests from overseas who meet during their travels sometimes strike up natural conversations sparked by books and drinks. With more than 95% of its guests coming from overseas, Shiba Park Hotel welcomes visitors from many countries and regions who relax in their own way, and new encounters while traveling are part of the scenery unique to this hotel.
The second-floor Foyer -Book & Culture- is a lush, green, park-like space furnished with lawn-inspired cushions and more, offering a place to relax and enjoy a change of scenery.
A drink enjoyed alongside a favorite book adds a special touch to a stay at Shiba Park Hotel. Founded in 1948 as a hotel for foreign trade missions, Shiba Park Hotel has a history and tradition spanning decades. The hotel houses approximately 2,000 books selected by Ginza Tsutaya Books. It offers 198 guestrooms, a first-floor restaurant serving Japanese, Western, and Chinese cuisine, and four banquet rooms on the second floor. Guestrooms and public spaces were renovated from 2020 to 2023. Cultural experience events such as tea service and Kintsugi workshops are also held.
